1. Who we are

SmartTrader.io ("SmartTrader", "we", "us") operates the website at https://smarttrader.io, which provides free financial calculators and related educational content. This policy explains what information is and isn't processed when you use the site, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Calculator inputs stay on your device

All calculators on SmartTrader.io run entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript. The figures you enter — account balances, prices, contribution amounts, time horizons — are:

• Never transmitted to our servers or to any third party;
• Never stored by us in any database, log or analytics system;
• Saved only on your device, in your browser's local storage, so your last inputs are still there when you return. Press a calculator's Reset button, or clear your browser data, to remove them at any time.

There is no mechanism in our code by which calculator inputs can reach us. This is a deliberate architectural decision, not merely a policy commitment.

3. Information we do process

3.1 Preferences stored on your device

The site saves a small amount of convenience data in your browser's local storage: your light/dark theme choice, your analytics consent choice (accepted or declined), the last calculator tab you used, and the figures you last entered into each calculator. All of this stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, is not a tracking identifier, and can be removed at any time — via each calculator's Reset button or by clearing your browser data.

3.2 Server logs

Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical logs when pages and assets are requested: the requested URL, timestamp, IP address, browser user-agent string and referring page. We use these logs solely for security monitoring, abuse prevention and diagnosing outages. Log entries are retained for a maximum of 30 days and are then deleted.

3.3 Email correspondence

If you contact us through the contact page, we receive the name, email address and message content you provide. We use this information only to respond to you. We retain correspondence for up to 24 months so we can follow up on ongoing issues, after which it is deleted.

3.4 Fonts

The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these font files, Google receives a standard web request including your IP address. Google states that Fonts requests are not used for advertising profiling. You can read Google's disclosure at their Fonts privacy FAQ. If you prefer to avoid this, the site remains fully functional with fonts blocked — your browser will substitute a system typeface.

3.5 Analytics — only with your consent

On your first visit we ask whether we may use Google Analytics 4 to understand overall traffic — which pages are visited, which calculators are used most, and roughly where visitors come from. What this means in practice:

• Nothing loads unless you click Accept. If you decline, or simply never answer, no Google script runs, no analytics cookies are set, and your choice is remembered on your device so we don't ask again.
• If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies/identifiers in your browser and collects usage data such as pages viewed, session duration, referring site, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. We configure IP anonymization. This data is processed by Google LLC on our behalf and is subject to Google's privacy policy; Google may process it on servers outside your country, including in the United States.
• What analytics never sees: the figures you type into calculators, your contact-form messages, and your name or email address. We use the data only in aggregate to improve the site — never to identify individual visitors, and never for advertising.
• Changing your mind is one click. Use the "Change your analytics choice" button in Section 5 below to withdraw or grant consent at any time. Withdrawing stops all tracking from your next page load; to remove cookies Google has already set, also clear cookies for this site in your browser. Google additionally offers a browser opt-out add-on.

4. What we don't do

• No advertising networks, remarketing pixels or social-media trackers.
• No analytics of any kind without your explicit, freely-given consent — and none of the numbers you enter are ever included in analytics data.
• No cross-site tracking or building of profiles that follow you around the web.
• No sale, rental or sharing of personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes — we have nothing to sell.
• No accounts, so no passwords or profiles to breach.

5. Cookies and your consent choice

SmartTrader.io itself sets no cookies. The preferences described in Section 3.1 use local storage, which stays on your device and is never transmitted with page requests. Cookies are only ever set by Google Analytics, and only after you click Accept on the consent banner (see Section 3.5).

6. Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies: we process server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and available (Art. 6(1)(f)); we process contact-form correspondence on the basis of your request prior to and during our communication with you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)); and we process analytics data solely on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time as described in Section 5 with effect for the future.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because the only personal data we typically hold is email correspondence you sent us, exercising these rights is usually as simple as asking. Send your request through the contact page and we will respond within 30 days. You can withdraw analytics consent yourself instantly using the button in Section 5. For data held by Google Analytics, deletion requests can also be made through us and we will pass them to Google using its data-deletion tools.

8. Children

SmartTrader.io is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Data security

The site is served exclusively over HTTPS. Because calculator inputs never leave your browser and we operate no user database, the attack surface for your personal data is minimal by design.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, post a notice on the home page for at least 30 days. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
